The Associate Product Manager supports the Product Development/Supply Chain team in activities related to the overall program and process management, product costing and item setup, product specs and component standards, and cross-functional communication.

Duties and Responsibilities


Overall Program + Process Management

  • Maintain product development calendar with key development, sales, creative and operations milestones.
  • Understand category and customer objectives: Timing and margin impacts.
  • Prioritize projects for assigned programs.
  • Schedule and lead finalization meetings.
  • Keep team members and customers updated on development process, samples, costs and timing.
  • Program management in terms of customer specific needs, outside testing; internal communication alongside Sales Account Management.

Product Costing + Item Setup

  • Work with Category Manager to confirm assortment and manage to meet program objectives.
  • Initial format, container, price positioning.
  • Prelim, initial and final costing of all components.
  • Create and maintain cost sheets through life of product and program.
  • Work with Data Control Analyst for finish good and UPC number assignment and all set up of the Bill of materials (BOMS) and routings.
  • Ensure BOMs are accurate and complete.

Product Specs + Component Standards

  • Collaborate with Design and Sourcing to determine and verify initial product specs.
  • Work closely with Sourcing and Quality in the approval of component standards and acceptable variance.
  • Overall program internal and external sample management.
  • Work in partnership with Fragrance Managers and Technical team in the set-up, review and approval of formulation development for R&D

Cross-Functional Team Member

  • Collaborate and communicate across all different departments.
  • Utilize a problem-solving mindset to accelerate projects.
  • Work to provide clarity throughout complex product development processes.

Skills & Knowledge Required

  • Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of product development/product management required or a combination of equivalent education and experience
  • Strong computers skills in Excel, MSWord, PowerPoint, and Google Slides
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in an efficient and timely manner
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills are essential
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects
  • Able to utilize imagination and creativity
  • Basic understanding of production development process, procedures and current market trends.
  • Minimal domestic travel
